IHF asbl presented at Atelier du Soleil asbl the ENSEMBLE project “Expectation and Non-Formal skills to Empower Migrants and to Boost Local Economy”. With an audience of more than 20 representatives of the target group, including migrants, VET facilitators and trainers, the event has been taken to spread the word about the project directly to the target group.
ENSEMBLE is a Project co-funded by the European Programme Erasmus+, Key Action 2, Vocational Education and Training, and is carried out by a transnational consortium of seven partners from Belgium, France, Italy, Macedonia and Spain.
Ensemble aims to empower migrants to self-assess their skills levels. This feature makes it an instrument able to overcome the disadvantage of traditional instruments that make the process of foreign credentials recognition frustrating for all but particularly for migrants.
The project developed not-formal and informal learning (NFIL) mechanism, focusing on migrants’ needs, that will help VET’s educators to identify and assess the NFIL professional competences of migrant groups, allowing migrants to play a central role in the integration process.
The Ensemble NFIL mechanism uses media (pictures, videos, sequences of images) allowing educators to identify migrant areas and degrees of competence. This mechanism allows educators to profile migrants’ professional skills set, in order to direct them towards the most suitable VET offer (custom solutions) for employment.
IHF asbl is a non-profit association established in Brussels in 2003 with the mission of increasing awareness on the European Union and function as a platform for exchange among practitioners from civil society, academia, public sector and industry on the many facets of European integration.
IHF asbl also holds seminars and provides training on the various aspects of EU opportunities for transnational collaboration.
