IHF Hosts Mobility of Jean Monnet Project “HI EU” in Brussels
IHF successfully hosted a mobility activity in the framework of the Jean Monnet project “HI EU – Hrvatska Inicijativa za Europsku Uniju u Školi”, implemented by the University of Dubrovnik.
The HI EU project aims to strengthen the understanding of the European Union among teachers and students in Croatia, addressing the need to improve awareness of EU values, institutions and citizenship. The initiative focuses on equipping educators with knowledge and innovative teaching tools to better integrate EU topics into school curricula and foster a stronger sense of European identity among younger generations.
From 16 to 20 March, IHF welcomed 25 Croatian teachers, representing a wide range of schools, for a study visit in Brussels. During the mobility, participants engaged in visits to key European institutions and the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), gaining first-hand insight into the functioning of the European Union.

As part of the training programme, the teachers were divided into four working groups and tasked with developing CVs tailored for their students based on a conceptual matrix built on the project’s objectives, integrating newly acquired knowledge and skills. Each group presented their results to the plenary, followed by interactive discussions and exchanges of ideas. These collaborative sessions enabled participants to reflect on innovative approaches and methodologies that can be applied in their classrooms.
This mobility represents a key step in the HI EU project, combining practical experience with peer learning and reinforcing the role of teachers as multipliers of EU knowledge and values.

IHF is proud to contribute to this initiative by facilitating direct engagement with EU institutions and supporting the professional development of educators committed to bringing Europe closer to students.
