DigHealth Annual Meeting and Training Strengthen Digital Health Education in Africa
The DigHealth Project successfully held its Annual Meeting and Training on September 29–30, 2025, at the University of Piraeus in Greece. Partners from Europe, Ethiopia and Somalia convened to assess progress and plan the next stages in developing digital health micro-credentials aimed at enhancing higher education capacity in partner countries.
The two-day meeting focused on project milestones, current implementation status, and coordination of upcoming activities, reaffirming the consortium’s shared commitment to advancing digital transformation in health educationacross Somali and Ethiopian universities.
As part of the event, participants also joined a specialized training on telemedicine, designed to support the creation of localized, high-quality learning modules within the DigHealth micro-credential framework. This capacity-building initiative equips academic staff and institutions with the knowledge and tools to integrate digital health competenciesinto curricula and professional training.
The training series will continue in Greece and later in Zagreb, Croatia, hosted by RIT Croatia and the Catholic University of Croatia, further strengthening cross-regional collaboration and expertise exchange.
Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, DigHealth promotes innovation, digital skills, and inclusion in health education systems, building sustainable bridges between European and African higher education institutions.
