Scouts4GreenApp Launches National and International Challenge to Empower Youth for Sustainable Development
The Scouts4GreenApp consortium proudly announces the launch of the National and International Challenges as part of the EU SDG Challenge, a dynamic initiative engaging vocational education and training (VET) learners across Europe to champion sustainability and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, Scouts4GreenApp is a pioneering project dedicated to embedding ecological, economic, and social sustainability into VET. Through its innovative app and curriculum, the project equips learners and educators with essential skills and knowledge to drive positive change in their communities and the labour market.
The National Challenge is a cornerstone of the Scouts4GreenApp mission, inviting VET students and apprentices to develop and present innovative solutions for making mobility experiences and everyday business actions more sustainable. Participants will address real-world challenges aligned with the SDGs, fostering environmental awareness, green entrepreneurship, and sustainable lifestyles.
“Sustainability is more than a trend—it is a necessity for the skilled workers of tomorrow. Through the Scouts4GreenApp Challenge, we empower young people to become ambassadors for sustainability, equipped to make a lasting impact in their professions and communities,” said the project coordinator.
The challenge-based approach encourages collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, supporting the development of key sustainability competences as outlined in the European GreenComp framework. By participating, learners not only gain valuable micro-credentials but also contribute to the EU’s broader goals of climate action, green industry advancement, and digital transformation.
The National Challenge is open to all VET learners and staff in the EU. Winners will be recognized for their outstanding contributions to sustainable development and will be invited to the EU challenge in Brussels. There they have the opportunity to showcase their projects at the European level.
