Enhancing the managerial skills of sport administrators: ADMINS training on Sports Law
On the 22nd of March 2021, the ADMINS partnership organised an online training on “Sports Law” to showcase the first module of the ADMINS learning toolkit. Despite the restrictive measures related to the COVID pandemic, the ADMINS partnership reached a satisfactory amount of international online attendees.
In particular, the online training started with an introduction from Lorenzo Costantino (IHF asbl) and Verica Mance (HASM). An interesting roundtable followed, concerning the state of the art of Sports Law in the countries represented in ADMINS (Belgium, Croatia, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and at EU level). This session underlined the regulatory fragmentation in Europe highlighting some common traits and challenges with interesting contributions from participants. Furthermore, Module1 of the training developed by PAR and UCAM was presented focusing on the explanation of EU institutions dynamics and the main legal acts referred to sports policies. Finally, the closing session showcased more specifically Sports Law cases and judicial decisions (e.g. Bosman Case). The training also included an interactive session with two Quizzes to increase the level of understanding.
Currently, the partners are already developing further courses which cover different relevant topics for sport administration, such as:
• sport management
• marketing activities
• event organisation
• office management
• EU project writing, correspondence and communication
ADMINS is a Sport Project co-funded by the Erasmus Plus Programme of the European Commission. In particular, ADMINS aims at addressing the need of fostering the job-related skills and competences of sports administration employees in order to strengthen the capacities of sports organisations and contribute to better governance in sports.
In the Project, IHF asbl brings its expertise and experience as a key social player in international and European projects. In particular, IHF asbl ensures the “European Dimension” of the Project as it carries out all the technical tasks from a “European Perspective”, i.e. carrying out analysis of relevant EU policies and initiatives; extrapolating EU relevant case studies, lessons learned and best practices.
